She was a nova class starship on a scientific mission, there was nothing on her manifests that suggested anything could have happened to the ship. From the exterior she looked fit and ready, there no evidence of a battle so there was no apparent reason for the crew to have abandoned her. The lone man in the stasis chamber was another mystery, why had he been left behind? He didn't like the situation, on the forward viewscreen sat a ship looking as if it had just left Mickinely station awaiting a crew for a shakedown cruise. What had happened to cause the entire crew, save one, to abandon ship. It was troubling and he didn't like it. He moved to the center seat and sat down next to Sanok glancing at his friend he asked. "Have we learned anything further?" (reply Sanok, any) (posted by Milo Young) ----- (Rosenante, Bridge, 2O/CSec Sanok, Day 1, 1236) For most of the time the crew was dealing with investigating the Tesla, Captain Soma had spent much of his time in his ready room. Something was happening, but of course, Sanok didn't know what it was. Perhaps it was something personal. Perhaps Ben had been communicating with his parents about something. Whatever it was, Sanok was certain his friend would eventually tell him what it was. "Have we learned anything further?" It was agreeable to Sanok to see Captain Soma come out of the ready room to take the center seat again. "At this point, Captain, what we know is limited," said Sanok. "Until the computer lockout is removed, we are at a standstill." Direct and to the point, as always. Without making it look like he was, Sanok studied Ben to try to discern if something was bothering him.... (reply Soma iyw, any) (posted by Bob B.) ----- (Rosenante, Bridge, CO, Captain Ben Soma, Day 1, 1238) "At this point, Captain, what we know is limited," said Sanok. "Until the computer lockout is removed, we are at a standstill." Ben didn't like that but there wasn't much he could do about it, he wasn't an engineer so he didn't have the technical expertise to be of much help. In the academy he excelled at combat simulations, security simulations and liked it that way. Though he had done well enough in other aspects he had chosen to pursue a career in security and tactical. He basic understanding of engineering and science was of little use to anyone at the moment. They had their best people working on it and all he could do was wait for a breakthrough. Turning to Sanok he noticed his friend giving him the once over, no doubt trying to figure out why Ben had been spending much of his time holed up in the ready room. The reason was to fold, research for the Tesla and trying to keep track of his predecessor. Recently he had received a coded message stating that Salid had gone missing. No further details were available as the Captain's mission had been top secret, Ben could only assume a number of reasons but hadn't accepted any of them. For the moment he would keep that information to himself, until he could learn more. Right now he had another mystery to deal with. "We could attempt a shut down and restart of the Tesla." Ben said. "It should clear the lockout but the down side is we'd loose any information that my not have been saved to the computer. Active logs, sensor scans, diagnostics and the like. If we can't break the lock out we may have no choice." Ben hoped it wouldn't come to that, they may lose some valuable information. "What about the individual we found in stasis." Ben inquired. "Have we learned anymore about who it is and if we could revive them safely?" (reply Sanok, any) (posted by Milo Young) ----- (USS Tesla, Main Engineering, ACEO Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras - 1239) "=/\= LCDR Matrix and Ensign Maddox are tackling the unlocking issue. I need you to inspect engineering. Look for any signs of obvious tampering as well as signs of any kind of struggle. =/\= answered lieutenant jackson to Tho'var question. "Yes, sir./" he added before ending the communication. Tho'var looked around. If main engineering had been tempered, there would be signs of hostilities. ~Ok...so where would it have started?~ Tho'var went one deck up, where most of the gel packs were located, and took one out. He collected a self-powered analysis computer to analyze the data processed by the gel pack. ~Interesting...~ it seemed someone tried to isolate the optical data network of main engineering from the rest of the ship. Either someone tried like he was right now to gain back the control of the ship's computer, or he was trying to isolate it from a external threat. Looking around, Tho'var realized that one of the panel was not properly installed on the wall. It was installed the wrong side out. While anyone else would not even realize it, the two side being almost identical, any engineer knew which side was to be outside...and, unless a rookie, no one would have made such a mistake. The panel was giving access to some relays heading to the lower decks. Taking a look, everything was there, but at the same time, there was an intuition something wasn't right. "I need to head down to the last few decks. I need to check something." said Tho'var to ensign Ross. (Reply Ross) Tho'var took the jeffery's tube to go to the lowest decks. Strangely, he didn't felt very comfortable. He didn't knew why, but he felt worried....as if his mind was constantly focusing on the surrounding rather than on what he was doing. There was something on the Tesla that was unsettling....but he couldn't say what. If he didn't knew best, he would have thought he was getting skyzophrenic, or claustrophobic. ~An Aenar claustrophobic... that would be a first!~ he thought. To reassure himself, he took a look around, and checked if there was any life signs near, but there wasn't [except Ross life sign], so he resumed. It didn't took him long to realize tempering had indeed been done. There were a series of EPS conduits leading to two shield emitters that had been completely damaged. Seeing this, Tho'var went to the next EPS conduits leading to the shield emitter, and found the same damaged conduit. After a few minutes, it was clear he will find the same things for all the other shield emitters. Tho'var opened a communication to lieutenant Jackson. "Lieutenant Tho'var to Lieutenant Jackson. There is indeed tempering. I discovered that all the shield emitters installed to serve as relays for the ship shield have been rendered inoperative. They have cut all EPS access. We would need to create new EPS conduits to power those emitters. Also, what I have seen so far on main engineering suggest someone(s) have indeed tried to get access to the command processing. Otherwise main engineering and the surrounding look find, so they were targettng specific location and systems." (Reply Jackson) (Posted by Nick) ----- (USS Tesla - Sickbay - ATAC Ensign (sg) Jessica Signos - Day 1 - 1240) The all female team appered in sickbay aboard the Telsa, and all went right about their duties. Little is known on how or when Jessica drew her phaser the motion was to smooth and the weapon just seemed a normal extension of her body that it could of always been there. The small tactical officer went about securing the sickbay while the two medical staff went about checking the computers and the rest of the bay looking for any sign of what happened to the Telsa, which thanks to the computer lock out was very little. Once all of the main area was cleared they started to make their way into the many small er labs and workstation off of main medical. This lead the small team into the morgue where they made their most interesting discovery so far, a male bateziod. This discovery automatically put Jessica on edge as she kept to the far side of the room keeping everyone else in her site. Jessica had suffered a great deal at the hands of bateziod's in the past and knew not to undermine their telepathic ability. It was that ability that allowed Section 31 to merge her mind with the created personality of Lily. It was the reason she could not get close to anyone or rather no one would get close to her. She listened to the other two women speak about their first away missions, Jessica's remembered her first time. It was to bring relief to a colony that had nearly destroyed itself. She was on the Boudicca then, and that time seemed like so long ago. Jessica pulled herself back to the mission and the problem at hand "Their might be away of communicating with Lan Torell." She spoke her eyes fixed on the man with in the cryo-tube. "He's bateziod, if we can gain enough access to the computer system to check his mental status we might be able to use someone who is telepathically sensitive to comm-un-i-cate." she spoke but as she finished her thought. A cold chill ran down her spine. A familiar six sense that told the assassin in her that they were not alone. "No, sadly, nothing yet," said Andersen. "It's locked down so tight. I tried everything I knew and wasn't able to find anything else." There was silence in the room while Doc Andersen sat on a chair, one leg crossed over the other, and her head leaning on her left hand. Oddly, the doc was grinning. "Tesha, may I ask, what was your first away mission like?" Tesha's antennae moved in a slow, circular pattern while she contemplated the situation at hand. She didn't really care for officers, but she had sensed something different about Doc Andersen. Maybe it was possible for an officer to be okay. "It was before the war," said Tesha, beginning cautiously. "I was assigned to the Topeka, which was also a Nova class, just like the Tesla." Maybe that was why Tesha had been feeling the odd sensation that something wasn't right. Maybe that was why she had this odd, almost paranoid feeling. She had enjoyed serving on the Topeka, so seeing something bad happening on another Nova, was probably making her feel ill-at-ease. "We were on a routine resupply and personnel transfer mission to a duck blind on a pre-warp planet. I beamed in as part of the medical team that did physicals on the science team there. It was supposed to be routine, until it wasn't." She remembered the incident and chuckled. "A very large arachnid had managed to crawl inside the outpost. When I say very large, I'm talking larger than my hand." She held up her right hand to show how big that was. "Needless to say, everyone scattered. We didn't know if it was poisonous or not, so we weren't taking any chances. It seemed to take a liking to me, so it followed me wherever I went. Maybe it was the antennae." She chuckled again. "Someone tried to catch it in a beaker, but the thing had the ability to jump. That didn't go over well, of course, and everyone scattered again. It kept following me, then decided to jump again. It ended up on my leg." She shivered, her antennae jittering as well. Tesha subconsciously rubbed her thigh on the exact spot the spider had been. "While I was busy not moving and not breathing, someone eventually caught it. It turned out to be non-venomous, but it was still unpleasant." "Well, that actually sounds like fun," said Andersen with a laugh. Tesha snorted. "That actually reminded me of one of the holo missions we had at the Academy," said Andersen. "Talking about the Academy... had any crushes?" Being enlisted, Tesha hadn't gone to the Academy, but she did go to advanced training after Basic. It was separate from the Academy, but was essentially the same. As far as crushes, she wasn't sure what to say. She still wasn't sure how to take interacting like this with an officer She was also uncomfortable talking about that subject. Andorian mating practices were different from Humanoids, but Andorians were still anatomically compatible with them. She must have been blushing, as Doc Andersen jumped in before Tesha responded. "Oh... okay! I meant the cadets, but there's nothing wrong with having crushes on instructors, too! I... I suppose." Tesha realized this was what the Humans called, girl talk. She didn't know Doc Andersen well enough yet to talk about such personal things. She certainly had no idea how to deal with the subject in front of Ensign Signos, whose physical appearance was that of a girl too young to be talking about sex and crushes. "How about you, Doctor? Was your crush a cadet?" said Tesha, turning it back on Doc Andersen. "Oh, yeah. He was an athlete, as well as a cadet. Had to choose between the two. You should of seen those muscles... At the end, he rolled out and that was the last time I saw him. He could never remember my name." Doc Andersen giggled, which made Tesha feel a little relaxed, though she decided to be honest with the doc. "We don't like to talk about that part of us with non-Andorians. As you know, we have four sexes in procreation, so most races can become uncomfortable with that." Direct and to the point. "I seriously didn't know that part of Andorian culture," said Andersen. Tesha changed the subject. "I enjoyed my time on Earth. It's a lot different from Andor." "Earth is... beautiful, but kind of too peaceful. You know? It's a great place to live out your retirement, though." Doc Andersen laughed, which caused Tesha to chuckle. She decided she was going to like this officer. Things became silent again while Doc Andersen appeared to be looking around the room for something. She sat up straight and stretched. "The academy days were so funny, and we were so so silly," said Andersen. Though Andorians had a more serious outlook than many races, Tesha understood what the doc meant. "There might be a way of communicating with Lan Torell." It was Ensign Signos, speaking for the first time since the trio beamed to the Tesla. "He's Betazoid. If we can gain enough access to the computer system to check his mental status, we might be able to use someone who is telepathically sensitive to communicate," said Signos. This was a good idea, but there was that computer lockout. She looked at Doc Andersen for an answer. (reply Andersen, Signos, any) (posted by Bob B.) ----- (Rosenante, Bridge, CO, Captain Ben Soma , Day 1, 1243) "He is Lieutenant Lan Torell, the aCEO of the Tesla," said Sanok. "He has a good service record, with nothing out of the ordinary. To learn why he is in stasis, we must either revive him, or wait for the computer lockout to be removed." Ben considered his options, waiting for the lock out to be removed may take some time. The longer they waited the longer it would take to find out what happened and the more distance that being put between then and the Tesla's crew if it were the case that they had been abducted. On the other hand if Torell was in stasis for a medical reason they could lose the patient. This was the decision that used to fall to Salid, now it was his call. "It could take hours to do that. If the Tesla crew was captured, we could be wasting valuable time that we would need to try to find them. We may need to wake Torell. If you wish to do that, I would like to beam to the Tesla." Sanok's statement echoed Ben's thoughts, he always thought this one one of the reasons they had become close friends. They had always been able to anticipate what the other was thinking. Though he didn't like to risk peoples lives to quote Ambassador Spock, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one. "Beam over to the Tesla and have Doctor Anderson revive Lieutenant Torell." He said. "Take what ever precautions you deem necessary, if he's lucid find out what he knows. Should he be in stasis for a severe medical condition return him to that state and we'll have to wait until the lockout is broken, I don't want to kill Torell if it can be avoided." "Where is the cryo chamber?" said Sanok. He was led into the morgue. Looking at the man inside for a few moments, he turned to face Andersen. "Because we do not know how long it will take to overcome the computer lockout, and because we could be wasting valuable time we may need to find the Tesla crew, Captain Soma has decided that Lieutenant Torell should be revived. If we can gain access to the computer system to check his mental status, we might be able to use someone who is telepathically sensitive to communicate." She made a fine point, but there was still the issue of lockout. Ailyn caught Tesha looking towards her for an answer. Answer Ailyn didn't have. Luckily for her, Lt Comm Sanok opened the channel and explained he will be beaming to the sickbay with a team. Ailyn went back to the sickbay, to meet up with the team. Several seconds after, Sanok materialized in sickbay. "Where is the cryo chamber?" said Sanok. Ailyn smiled and showed him the way, although she was sure he knew the Nova schematics better then she did. After he came to the cryopod, he stopped for few seconds, looking at the man inside. It seemed as he was thinking. Then he turned his face towards Ailyn. "Because we do not know how long it will take to overcome the computer lockout, and because we could be wasting valuable time we may need to find the Tesla crew, Captain Soma has decided that Lieutenant Torell should be revived." Ailyn nodded. Perhaps the crew would finally get their answers. "We do not know why Torell is in stasis, so I recommend you use full quarantine procedures." explained Sanok "Yes, sir." answered Ailyn, then looked towards Tesha and nodded, letting her know she was ready "Ensign Signos, I will be with Doctor Andersen. If something should happen, and if Torell breaks free, it will be up to you to stop him." explained Sanok This was relieving to hear for Ailyn. She heard many things about Signos, but one thing was sure, she was a great and capable tactical/security officer. "Tesha, if it comes to it, you will need to warn the rest of the away team, as well as contact the Rosenante." said Sanok to Tesha It seemed Sanok thought of everything. Ailyn double-checked her tricorder, opening the bags she had with her, she took five field enhancers, positioning them around the cryo chamber. It took several seconds for her to link them up together and set the field frequency. Any viral agent wouldn't be able to pass through the field, however, human beings could. It meant that Ailyn had to be inside to catch up Liutenant Torell when the cryo chamber doors opens up. "Doctor, let me know when you're ready." said Sanok Ailyn looked towards the cryo chamber, then back up to Sanok and nodded. "Ready when you are, Sir." said Ailyn and took one long deep breath. (Reply: Sanok, Any) (Posted by: Lani) ----- (USS Tesla, Sickbay, PO1 Tesha, Day 1, 1254) After Lt. Cmdr. Sanok passed along the captain's orders, Tesha looked at Doc Andersen, who nodded back. Tesha gave the doc a quick smile, understanding what she needed to do to help prepare to revive Lt. Torell in the cryo chamber. Sanok said, "Tesha, if it comes to it, you will need to warn the rest of the away team, as well as contact the Rosenante." "Yes, sir. I will," said Tesha. Having served on a Nova class starship early in her career, Tesha knew where the medical gear was stored. Moving quickly to the lockers, she grabbed two protective suits, one small and one large. After Doc Andersen finished setting up the field enhancers, Tesha brought them the suits. "Here you go, sir. Doctor." Sanok nodded, took the proffered gear, and began to put it on. Tesha moved to Doc Andersen, helping her put on her suit. Tesha's stomach began to flutter, while her antennae began to twitch slightly. "Don't worry, Doctor. It will probably turn out to be nothing more than Torell was left behind to tell us what happened." Tesha gave her a reassuring smile. (reply Andersen, Signos) (posted by Bob B.) ----- (USS Tesla - Sickbay - ACMO Ensign (jg) Ailyn Andersen - Day 1 - 1256) They were ready and it was mere seconds before Torell would be revived. It will probably turn out to be nothing more than Torell was left behind to tell us what happened." said Tesha with a kind smile Ailyn smiled back and nodded. ~I sure hope you're right, girl.~ thought Ailyn. The field enhancers were humming - they were working as intended, and everything seemed to be up to plan so far. Ailyn was ready. She signaled Sanok to begin. Took him only a few seconds to open up the cryo chamber. How he was able to accomplish this, Ailyn couldn't see. She was standing behind getting ready. With a scratchy sound, the cryopod door was opened, the subject started thawing but Ailyn knew she had to speed up the process. 200 ccs of thyropheadrine did the trick, speeding up warmth and regulating internal blood pressure so it stabilizes. It also made sure the blood doesn't crystalize, which could be fatal. After several seconds, Torell's cheeks were pink, his eyelids were moving, and first finger movements. Torell tried moving several times but he wasn't ready for it, as if he was trying to escape from something. The forceful movements with his stiff body without any coordination almost made him fall from the pod down, Ailyn was ready to catch him if it comes to that. Instead, it seemed Torell got most of his strength back and immediately stood up. Ailyn was caught in the moment, she did not expect him to gain most of his power this quickly. Opening her mouths to say something, she wasn't even sure what, it seemed to caught his attention and he looked at her. Pausing only for a second, he then proceeded to look at Tesha, then Signos, looking at the faces as if he was trying to determine if he knows any of them, or at least it seemed that way to Ailyn. Then he stopped while looking at Sanok's face. Ailyn could see Torell pressing his fingers of both of his hands in a fist, the muscles of his body contracting to form a strong stature. Ailyn looked at the man's face. His eyes bright with a burning hate, the rest of his face followed with an fearful expression. Inhailing deeply, Ailyn stopped breathing. She was afraid of this man. Blocked from the danger she felt, she was moveless. (Reply: Any) (Posted by: Lani) ----- (USS Tesla, Main Engineering, ACEO Lieutenant Tho'var Kevras - 1257) Without the shield emitters functioning, the only other way for the USS Tesla to have shields covering the ship entirely was to use the deflector dishes. However, with the computer locked, it was impossible for Tho'var to do anything on that subject. There wasn't much to do. An engineer without a computer was like a captain without a ship...doing nothing everywhere....and pissing everyone off, just in case the opportunity of actually having a new ship, or a new computer, presented itself. At least, he had the advantage of not being very talkative. So unless ensign Ross hated to walk, he probably didn't worried too much about Tho'var going everywhere and then back. Moving to the upper and lower deck of main engineering, Tho'var checked the deuterium and anti-deuterium tanks. Both seemed at decent levels. ~So at least it means they did not stole or jettisoned any fuel~ he thought. Tho'var stopped. Despite main engineering was huge.....and right now pretty much empty and silent.... he still felt like if it was a crowded place. The room was filled with different emotions Tho'var could barely distinguishes. Perhaps there was a ghost.... the crew having disappeared mysteriously, their soul might have remained prisoners on the ship, started to think Tho'var without taking ghost-stories very seriously. ~What should I do now~ he wondered. Warp capability was always useful, and checking the warp nacelles was at least one task that didn't required to access the main computer. "I'm going to check the nacelles. It is also quite narrow there, so you could wait for me here. I will contact you every thirty minutes just to confirm everything is fine." he said to Ensign Ross. He had tried all the standard codes retrieved from the Rosenante's computer. So now he was trying a different solution to his problem. He set up his tricorder to attempt decryption programs and record what the response was. While his tricorder did that autonomously, Andrew worked on manually mapping which of the isolinear chips on each rack carried which pieces of program and code. Time consuming but necessary to what he was about to attempt. Over the soft hums of the tricorder on automatic Andrew heared the chirp of a combadge. He turned his attention briefly to the sounds coming from outside the panel he was now in from his upper torso to his head. "Jackson to Sanok come in" Lieutenant Jackson attempted to report. Moments passed in silence. Another chirp and Lt. Jackson again attempted to communicate. "Dr Anderson this is LT. Jackson come in.". Silence answered him. ~I hope everyone is OK.~ Andrew hoped. Torell began moving slowly, followed by sudden, uncoordinated movements. It looked as though he would fall, but he recovered quickly. Sanok wasn't in medical, but he knew enough to tell this wasn't normal. Torell looked around the room, quickly eying each person there, but once he saw Sanok, Torell's gaze was fixed on him, an expression on his face that Sanok recognized as hatred. The engineer's hands were balled into fists. "Lieutenant Torell, I am Lieutenant Com..." Sanok was unable to finish his greeting, as Torell, with unexpected speed and vigor, leaped out of the cryo chamber and onto Sanok, his fists pounding wherever he could. Sanok instinctively moved to defend himself, but froze when a searing pain that felt like fire, ripped through his head. Crying out in pain, he stumbled to the floor, Torell landing on top of him, the engineer's fists still pounding him. Sanok fought to remain conscious, but everything around him became a blur of motion and incomprehensible sound. Seconds later, everything was black. (reply Andersen, Signos) (posted by Bob B.) ----- (USS Tesla, Sickbay, PO1 Tesha, Day 1, 1301) Before Doc Andersen began reviving Lieutenant Torell, Tesha nonchalantly moved to a position next to the door. If something were to happen, and if Torell had somehow managed to take out the others, she wanted to make sure she had an escape route. She tapped her comm badge. "PO Tesha to away team. We found a member of the Tesla crew in stasis in sickbay. Captain Soma ordered that he be revived. Lieutenant Commander Sanok is here, and we're about to begin. Tesha out." Watching the procedure, Tesha began thinking about what they would learn from this. She would never have imagined what actually happened. How could a man just revived from stasis, move so quickly and so violently, so soon after being wakened? For that matter, how could he have so easily taken down a Vulcan highly trained in combat? The FO seemed to have lost consciousness, as he stopped moving. He was wearing the protective suit, so Tesha wondered if he was even still alive. She pushed that thought out of her mind as Lieutenant Torell jumped to his feet, pushed Doc Andersen aside, and charged for the door. Right where Tesha was standing. ~Oh, crap!~ (reply Andersen, Signos) (posted by Bob B.) ----- (USS Tesla - Sickbay - ACMO Ensign (jg) Ailyn Andersen - Day 1 - 1303) "Lieutenant Torell, I am Lieutenant Com..." Sanok tried with the greeting but was unable to finish as Torell jumped out of the cryo chamber unexpected, and was quickly on Sanok, hitting him and all around with his fists. Taking one of the hits, Ailyn was pushed to the back of the room, hitting a shelve full of glass, she could feel the pain of several of broken glass parts entering her skin. In a half-yelled scream, she fell to the floor, nose bleeding. She tried her best to keep her eyes open. Trying as best as she could to grasp the situation, she could see Sanok lying on the floor taking hits as if he was unable to move. Smash after smash, and Sanok was just lying there, and the man hitting him, Torell, fiercefully hitting him as a rabid animal. Ailyn could see Torell's fists were covered in blood. Seconds later, it seemed as Sanok was unconsciouss. Ailyn could see with a part of her left eye that Torell stood up and started running towards Tesha. Ailyn gave in all the strength she had to stand up, but her muscles felt broken from the crash. There was nothing she could do... Her vision started blurring, her eyes closing down on themselves and she was having a hard time keeping her consciousness. Ailyn listened to her breaths, trying to forget the pain. The breaths were getting slower, and slower and slower. Ailyn started seeing many images of her life, her past. Her father, having her in his arms. Calling her his princess. She remembered her mother tucking her in. She remembered her first innocent kiss to a boy she grew up with. She remembered the garden she played in most of her young childhood. She remembered the leaves that were falling the day she came back to earth after loosing her father. She could feel the light wind on her cheeks from that day, smell the blossoms of the flowers from the park she was in. She could remember the sun, reflecting on her skin. She could almost feel her mother's cold hand reaching out for her. The howl of the chilly wind, almost being able to hear the scream of the passing wind. Then she could no longer see. The sounds all seemed to fade away. And everything went black. The FO barely opened his mouth when Torell jumped on Sanok and proceeded to turn his face into a punching bag. Dr. Anderson became victim to one of Torell's clenched fist. It was a blow that sent her reeling and left the young woman laying on the ground in the far corner of the room. Jessica glanced at Sanok's still form before the cryo-tube. In the confined area of the morgue and with so many allied person about her person the phaser would do more harm than good. She moved with all haste to stop the hostile engineer from leaving this confined area. She slid before Tesha stopping a strike from Torell. "Go warn the rest of the away team." She ordered. Jessica sized up the man before him as she heard Tesha footsteps fade from behind her. Jessica stopping the blow meant for the young medical officer had given the Torell a reason to pause. He was a fighter Jessica had already saw proof of that, But she also knew of his bateziod heritage. With this added danger Jessica knew it was prudent to bring Lily more into her mind. Torell knowing that time was of the essences attempted to take the small childlike form him down quickly and without mercy. The mental blast of psychic energy tore though Jessica's mind but was shared between her and Lily. While the attack did hurt, it was manageable instead of dropping her into dark of unconsciousness. Torell became even more perplexed, how could she still stand who is this person. The thought were written all over his face. But his quizzical look quickly gave into rage, and he charged Jessica. Jessica was ready for the coming attack, She wanted to allow Tesha all the time she could to return with help. She let Torell close the distance come to her, then blow after blow fell from the engineers able hands. Jessica's moved in a graceful dance of death. One only few had seen on the Rosenante. She blocked, dodged and moved from the attacks waiting for the opertune time to make her strike when her comm-badge chirped. =/\= Soma to Signos =/\= The captains voice came over the comm-line "Yes Sir," Jessica spoke into the mic on her tactical circlet has she dove under a vicious left hook returning with a uppercut of her own that set Torell reeling a few steps back. =/\= "Do you require extra security Ensign. =/\= The Captain asked. "Would be nice." came the simple answer as Torell tried to run though her to again access to the door. "get back..." She spoke then let loose a chain of words that would make a sailor blush, as she gave chase, unsure if she had closed to the comm-line or not. She caught up with the man just outside sickbay betting to snot out of another of the Rosenanate's crew, two phaser blast were fired and both went wide has the man that Jessica knew was Lt. Jackson fell to the floor. But it was all the distraction Jessica needed before Terell was able to get way from the now how can we say pissed assassin behind him. Jessica placed her foot into the middle of the man back in a vicious jump kick that sent Torell head first into the opposing wall. He then stumbled back into Jessica's arms as she wrapped her slender arms around his midsection. He fell into her has the small form arched her back sending the larger man over her person and into the flooring behind her. He didn't move after that either he was unconscious or dead. At that moment it did not really matter. Jessica took a few moments to find a length of cord to secure her hostage before the added security detail came from the Rose. He didn't think he would ever become accustomed to sitting in the dark rather than being in on the action. He wondered how other Captains kept their sanity when members of their crew were of on some potentially dangerous mission, though this situation didn't carry much in the way of risk at the moment. The Tesla was basically deserted with only one officer in stasis, it was up to the away teams to figure out why. Glancing at the chronometer he decided to request an update, he hoped there had been progress on both fronts but he was prepared for no change. "Rosenante to Jackson." He said. Lt Jackson came to a sitting position, "Thanks Ensign That's one I owe you " Jessica nodded in return. "We'll see what happens.'' "Ensign, what's your team's status?" Jackson asked. "Commander Sanok and Dr. Anderson were taken down by Torrel when he first came out of statis. Tesha had returned to sickbay along with the added security team from the Rosenante. Since she was the ranking security officer in sickbay, it came to her to issue commands to the security detail. "We still have people in engineering and on the bridge you three head to the bridge, while the next three head to engineering, the rest will stay here and provide security. Make contact with our people, no one moves alone two to three man teams at all time. I don't like whats happened here. Check in every hour at least." She ordered splitting the nine man team in thirds. Jessica then turned to the medical officer, seeing she was already tending to the hurt officers she nodded. Observing the data streams of what happens when various encryption algorithms are applied I've determined what the encryption does, and the file that has to be the encryption itself." Andrew said. (Reply Matrix) "If I'm correct the way this thing works is the encryption file is stored in a sealed file in the main computer. They set it up well in advance, and at a moment's notice a simple pass code or verbal command code would unseal the file. After that the file downloads itself to each terminal and access point and locks it." He explained. (Reply Matrix) "Even if we manage to unlock one terminal or even the main computer, we would have to unlock each terminal or it will just copy itself and reassert control with possibly a different passcode. What I propose is that we find on each terminal where the encryption is as in which isolinear chip, and sever the chip's connection. We leave that terminal off-line and then take the chip. I estimate we would end up collecting 72 some chips before we then would have to go to the main computer core to then disable the program. Dazed, she laid there, blinking as she tried to clear her head. When Tesha was able, she sat up. Lieutenant Torell had just beat up Lieutenant Jackson, but before the crazed Betazoid could come after her, Ensign Signos emerged from sickbay, and took him down. Tesha sighed with relief, but her medical training quickly came back to her. She had three people that needed attention, but she had to use proper triage procedures to decide who to tend first. Based on what she had witnessed, Lieutenant Commander Sanok was the most severely injured. She got up from the floor and ran back into the morgue. Tesha was normally a med tech, but she was also a certified field medic. Using her medical tricorder, she did a quick scan of both Lieutenant Commander Sanok and Doc Andersen. The FO was indeed the worst of the injured. Doc Andersen had been hit, but that was the extent of her injuries. With the FO, she was getting odd readings she didn't understand. He wanted to know why this happened so he had requested that Torell be transferred to the Rose and confined to the brig. When he received word that their guest had arrived he headed of to speak with him. Entering the turbo lift he stated his destination and wondered what would be waiting for him when he arrived. Would it be a caged beast or would it be a very confused officer? Moments would tell. When the lift came to a halt he exited and walked down the corridor to the ships brig, stepping inside he nodded to the Sec officer on duty and moved into the main chamber containing the cells. He stood before the man who had injured a number of his crew, physically he didn't look that intimidating but Ben had learned not to judge a book by it's cover. It was often the smallest warrior that was the most dangerous. The man standing before him did seem like a caged beast, his gaze spoke of the rage that was barely being contained. Ben was certain if not for the energy barrier separating them Torell would attack him as well. What had caused this officer to behave the way he did, was this why he was in stasis? Had he become a danger to the Tesla's crew? "Lieutenant Torell." Ben began. "I'm Captain Ben Soma, your aboard the USS Rosenante. I apologize for your current accommodations but it was necessary. Torell had a crazed expression on his face, and he was panting, as though he had just run a long distance. It was his eyes, though, that David noticed the most. He had seen people that had lost control and had eyes that were crazed. With Torell, it was more than that. It was as if being wild, and hate, and pain, were all rolled into one. It made him shiver. He glanced at his partner, who shrugged. The door to the brig opened and Captain Soma entered. David snapped to attention, and Phil, his partner at the control area, stood to his feet. The captain nodded, then went directly to Torell. David relaxed and Phil sat down again. "Lieutenant Torell, I'm Captain Ben Soma. You're aboard the USS Rosenante. I apologize for your current accommodations, but it was necessary. You attacked several members of my crew. Care to explain why." David observed Torell. At first, the man didn't acknowledge that anyone was there, or that something had been said to him. In the last hour, he moved from main engineering, to deck 8, back to main engineering, to the warp nacelles, back to main engineering, to the weapon system on last deck, and then finally in main shuttlebay on deck 2. Moving on the ship also allowed him to confirm one of his fear. The presence he felt was still vivid in his mind, but he still couldn't get any fix on it. Somehow, whoever or whatever was there was able to shield or protect itself from Tho'var mental projection. Furthermore, the feeling was unsettling. Tho'var heart was beating fast. He felt like being awaken in the middle of a dream each time he tried to focus on that presence.... the feeling was really not worth the effort. Tho'var examined the shuttlebay. Fron what he knew of the Nova-class, there were two shuttle missings... but with the computer locked, he was unable to check when and why they left. It was even possible the Tesla always missed two shuttles. Without logs, it was quite a blind search. For the last few minutes, there was a huge mental release. Whereas he felt tired minutes ago, a regain of energy and a better concentration seemed almost odd. Too odd... "Tho'var to Lieutenant Jackson." (Reply Jackson) "Are you still on board?"
